Admission

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Vijay Rural Engineering College is amongst the most competitive colleges when it comes to the admissions.

The following is the EAPCET counselling code which might be useful for the students applying for the college:

B.Tech

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admission:
The following is the criteria for the B.Tech admission:
  • 70% admissions are under the Convener Quota.
  • To seek admission into the first year of a four-year B.Tech course in any branch, he/she must satisfy the following requirements:
  • A student must have passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other examination recognized by the Government of Telangana as its equivalent.
  • All eligible candidates for admission into First Year shall have to qualify in the EAPCET Examination conducted by the Govt. of Telangana.
  • The candidates will be admitted by the EAPCET Convener strictly in accordance with the rank secured at the Entrance Examination and keeping the rules applicable in view, regarding the reservation of seats for various categories of candidates.
Management Quota
  • 30% of total seats are under Management Quota.
  • To seek admission under the Management Quota, he/she must satisfy the following requirements.
  • A student should either have obtained a rank or should have secured a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% in group subjects (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) in the Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana or any other examination recognized by the Government of Telangana as its equivalent.
  • • 30% of the total seats will be considered under the Management Quota.

Note: No reservation-based or any other concession will be given under the Management Quota.

MBA

Eligibility for MBA Program

A candidate seeking admission into the Two-year MBA program must satisfy the following criteria:

  • A pass in a bachelor’s degree in any field with 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Must have qualified in the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) conducted by TS State Council of Higher Education, Govt of TS.
  • The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the TS Educational institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order 1974 as amended from time to time.
  • The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the ICET.
  • The Convener admits 70% of the intake to the MBA program based on the ICET rank.
  • The Management admits the remaining 30% under Management and NRI quota.

DIPLOMA

DURATION AND PATTERN OF THE COURSES

All the Diploma programs run at various institutions are of 3 years duration of Academic Instruction approved by AICTE. All the Diploma programmes are run on semester-wise pattern

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION INTO THE DIPLOMA COURSES:

Selection of candidates is governed by the Rules and regulations laid down in this regard from time to time.

Candidates who wish to seek admission in any of the Diploma programme will have to appear for Common Entrance Test for admissions into Polytechnics (POLYCET) conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana, Hyderabad.

The candidates satisfying the following requirements only are eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test for admissions into Polytechnics (POLYCET).

a) The candidates seeking admission should have appeared for the X class examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana or equivalent examination at the time of making application to the Common Entrance Test for Polytechnics for admissions into Polytechnics (POLYCET). In case of candidates who apply with pending results of their qualifying examinations, their selection shall be subject to submission of proof of their passing the qualifying examination in one attempt or compartmentally at the time of counselling for admission.

b) The reservation rules stipulated by the Government of Telangana from time to time are implemented for the admissions into Polytechnics, for 1st year (1st semester) based on the merit obtained in the Common Entrance Test (POLYCET), students selected by Women and Child Welfare Department and Lateral Entry admissions for Inter Vocational Students/LPCET for ITI students into II year (3rd semester).

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION

The medium of instruction and examination shall be in English.

PERMANENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (PIN)

A Permanent Identification Number (PIN) will be allotted to each candidate, which is computer generated so as to maintain the student information and tabulation of results. Example of PIN – 24001-CS-001 (PIN FORMAT is ‘24’ year of study, ‘001’ college code, ‘CS’ Branch code, ‘001’ roll number)

NUMBER OF WORKING DAYS PER SEMESTER:
  1. NUMBER OF WORKING DAYS PER SEMESTER: The Academic Year for all the Courses usually commences from 2nd week of June of the year of admission to 31st March of the succeeding year.
  2. The Working days in a week shall be from Monday to Saturday.
  3. There shall be 7 periods of 50 minutes duration on all working days.
  4. The minimum number of Instructional working days for each semester shall be 90 days excluding examination days/ Public holidays/ orientation programme/ Sports and games days. If this prescribed minimum is not achieved due to any reason, special arrangements shall be made to conduct classes to cover the syllabus.
ELIGIBILITY OF ATTENDANCE TO APPEAR FOR THE END EXAMINATION
  1. A candidate shall be permitted to appear for the end examination in all courses, if he or she puts up a minimum attendance of 75% of Instructional working days during the Semester.
  2. Condonation of shortage of attendance in aggregate upto 10% (65% and above and below 75%) in each semester may be granted on medical grounds.
  3. Candidates having less than 65% attendance shall be detained.
  4. Student attendance is recorded, twice a day using Aadhar Based Biometric Attendance System with a minimum gap of 6 hours for full day and three hours for half a day attendance.
  5. Students whose shortage of attendance is not condoned in any semester are not eligible to take their end examination of that class and their admissions shall stand cancelled. They may seek re-admission for that semester when offered next.
  6. A stipulated fee shall be payable towards condonation for shortage of attendance. (as per the Board norms)
